カナダでVIA鉄道初体験！ For my first time to get VIA train in Canada.

カナダのトロントから、ナイアガラの滝を見に、行きは電車で行ってみました。
事前情報では、早めに行って、飛行機と同じようにチェックインがあるなど、？？？な感じで。
ネットで予約すると、メールでバーコード付きの搭乗券が送られてきました。
I took the VIA train from Toronto to Niagara Falls.
When I look up about the VIA, I need to check in like a airline, ???.
(I could not imagine checking in when I took the train.)
After I made a booking on the web, I got a barcode by e-mail from VIA.


トロントのユニオン駅に行きますと、
飛行機さながらのチェックインカウンターもありましたが、
念の為にと案内の方に確認してみると、ナイアガラへはそこでチェックインしなくて良いそう。
どうやら、何日もかけてカナダを横断する鉄道のチェックインのようです。
When I arrived the Union Station in Toronto, I could find the check-in counter like a airport. I made confirm at the information desk, I didn’t have to check-in at that counter.
That counter is for long distance passenger.


で、案内の方に言われたとおり、ホームの下に行ってみると、
こんな看板と重量計が置いてあって、行列が。
どうやらここでチェックインのようです。
ナイアガラフォールズを通って、ニューヨークまで行くんですね。
Then I proceed to the underway, I found that sign and scale.
It seems to be the waiting place for check-in.
That train will go to New York through Niagara falls.


しばらくすると、係員の方が荷物の重さを量りに。
僕は制限以内だったようでこのシールを貼ってもらいました。
中には重すぎて、荷物を開けていた方も。
結構厳しいチェックのようです。
I waited for a moment, the staff was coming and checked my luggage by scale,
and he posted this seal.
Some of us opened their luggage for lessen their weight of luggage.
It seemed to be strictly check.


発車１０分前位に、みんな揃って並んでホームへ。
電車に乗るだけなのに、なんだか面白いひとときでした。
Around 10 minutes before departure, we went up to the platform in a line,
It was a funny experience just only a getting the train!


帰りは、グレイハウンドバスで。
グレイハウンドバス、高校の英語の授業の教材で出てきたなあ。
車内でWifiが使えて、快適でした。
The next day I got a greyhound bus from Niagara to Toronto.
I remember that I read the English sentence about greyhound in my high school days.
I could get Wifi in the bus it was very pleasant
